VINIFICATION

This Pinot Gris was hand harvested, then gently whole-bunch pressed. It was fermented in stainless steel tank with a small portion in oak barrels. Post fermentation the yeast cells were allowed to settle, and the wine remained on lees for 4 months, creating a creamy nutty complexity to this delicate feminine wine.

COLOUR

Pale lemon.

NOSE

Fresh nashi pears, pink lady apples, delicate and feminine with a hint of creaminess.

PALATE

Flavours of nashi pears carries over to the palate, complete with a crunchy acidity balanced with a creamy textural element. The wine is mid-weight and juicy, with good avour persistence to the very end of the palate.

FOOD MATCH

Nasi goreng, thai seafood green curry, or fresh Vietnamese rice paper rolls.

WINEMAKERS COMMENTS

The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Ants Nest vineyard, high in the Waihopai Valley. The clay soils impart minerality and a fineness, which is balanced by the dry finish.
